Type of wax we use

First time waxing? Here is what you need to know.

We use 3 types of wax products depending on preference and service. Most of our clients prefer Hard Wax over Strip.

  • Our signature hard wax provides quick, efficient results and a less painful waxing experience. Formulated with revolutionary flexible polymers. Hard wax adheres firmly to fine and coarse hair without sticking to skin making it less painful.

  • Natural Resin strip wax formulated with Titanium Dioxide perfect for sensitive delicate skin. Natural Resin derived from the sap of trees (generally pine or fir trees) can cause allergic reactions.

  • Synthetic Resin (high quality man made) strip wax formulated with Titanium Dioxide to reduce redness and irritation. Synthetic resins are much safer, more consistent in production batch. Less chance of allergic reaction.

The following conditions may prevent you from being waxed. A doctors note may be required.

Bacteria Infections; Impetigo, Stye, Boils,

Viral Infections; Cold Sore, Conjuctivitis, Genital Warts, Shingles, Fungal Infections; Ringworm, Scabies, Lice,

Skin Disorders; Psoriasis, Eczema

Please make waxer aware of bruising, cuts, abrasions, operations or recent scar tissue

Never wax irritated or open skin, sunburned, if you have been in a tanning booth the same day, wait 2 days after waxing to go in sun or tanning booths, no hot baths for 24 hours, no deodorants for 24 hours following treatment, avoid exercise 24 hours after may cause chaffing, avoid creams with fragrance, leading up until your menstruation and during waxing can be more painful,

Following these guidelines will help in the prevention of Folliculitis. Your health care provider can diagnose and recommend treatment.

Tips for waxing!

  • Hair should be at least a weeks worth of growth before your waxing. 1/2 inch is recommended for best results. Since the hair grows in different stages ( anagen, catagen, telogen) it will take at least 3 wax treatments in order to get on a waxing pattern.

  • Waxing every 4 weeks is the general rule however face waxing could be every 2 weeks. Waxing is something that should be maintained all year long in order to achieve maximum results. Over time you will experience less hair growth, the hair will become finer, softer, and the hairs will come out more easily.

  • Best way to prevent ingrown hairs is proper post-wax care! Waxing removes the entire hair and the root from the follicle. Your skin naturally thickens over the area that was waxed creating dead dry skin. It is important to keep the area gently exfoliated and hydrated

  • Shaving between waxing appointments is NOT recommended. Shaving will disrupt the hair growth cycle resulting in more hair at your next appointment, not to mention it will feel like your first wax all over again.
